Battery remaining incorrect/faulty?

Hi all, a first time poster so hopefully I’ve gotten it right?

Here’s the details: We bought two S7 Edge Model: SM-G935F 32GB on 26th of October 2016 which other than being different colours (for easy identification) are identical, with an added 128GB SD card added to both.

My concern is that yesterday I compared the “remaining battery” details & found that they varied hugely. The first at 100% charge shows 42:54, 52:20, & 148.00. The second shows 13:12, 16:06, & 45:30 or around 30% that of the first! This to me at first indicated a faulty battery.

However, testing (albeit brief so far), seems to indicate the discharge rate (standby with no usage) to be basically identical. After 3 hours they both show 94% remaining which looks to be fine?

I’ll continue to do ongoing testing to find out the true discharge rate. BTW the second (low readings) phone has MAXIMUM power savings enabled wherever possible & both phones have pretty much the same apps installed. The first phone has default power savings set.

I would just like to hear what others think of this & should I approach Samsung since it does appear to be a fault in some way?

There's no fault. For one thing, those are rough estimates which should never be trusted fully anyway. They change from time to time depending on what has the phone been doing the past few hours. The phones aren't being used identically I'd assume, hence they'd have different readings.

Thanks chanchan05, you are totally correct,

The "guesstimates" are wildly inaccurate & pretty much useless. The end result was as follows remembering that the estimate usage at 100% was 13h 12m. The phone was on standby with almost no usage during the analysis. The readings are as follows:

At 24 hours 16h 15m - 65%
At 48 hours 11h 40m - 35%
At 60 hours 6h 58m - 19%

Following the next full charge the estimate was 35 hours & I assume this will improve over time as it seems to be based on historic data.
