My ZTE Zmax Pro battery keeps on dying at 85-90%, what can I do to fix this and what could be causing this issue?

By your description it sounds like the battery has reached its end of life. The only fix I know of is replacing the battery.

whatever battery you get make sure it's from 2020 and is not an old one.
look at the listing and make sure and verify that it has an image there for the battery if it said it was made in 2020 or at least better off than getting an original OEM battery that's from 2016
