My battery life has been great even after jb update. The past month it has been getting worse. I let it run down all the way down before charging, but that didn't help. The battery monitor I have shows android system as biggest user, 60% then maps, 6%, but I haven't used maps since charge. And no,I haven't done a fdr, but have booted into recovery and cleared cache. That helped make things smoother.
Also, in the battery monitoring widget, it shows maps waking devise 2500 times, it went up 600 while I was at work and not using my phone? I am using gsam battery monitor.
 
Hi nightowl66. Welcome to the forums. Thanks for keeping us informed. Are you using Latitude to share your location with friends or family or some other location based app? Those are the only reasons I can think of for Maps to be waking up your device that much.
 
My battery was doing fine for 3 months after the upgrade, within the last week it has not been lasting near as long. I finally did a FDR yesterday and was pleasantly surprised, I thought resetting would be a longer ordeal. Once my phone was put back into NIB condition I then followed the setup wizard. My contacts were backed up in google but my pics and music were not, just in my PC. All contacts, music and pictures were perfectly restored, all I did was sign on to my google account......I must have done something without realizing it.
