Battery

Regularly, I'll see the battery at 28%, for example. I'll do something on the phone and then I'll get the notification almost instantly that my battery is low (less than 15%). In a matter of seconds, it'll reboot as it loses all battery power. So, in a matter of seconds it will go from roughly 30% to 0% and be dead. What gives, battery need replaced?

Hi,

For me, if I let the battery drain to below 10%, plugging my phone in to charge results in immediate shutdown.

But, your case sounds like a classic lazy battery. After a certain level of discharge 30% in your case, the output voltage crashes and any power draw from the phone causes the batter to give up and the phone to crash or shutdown. I had this too with my Note 1 and a fresh battery solved the problem.

Eric.

That's what I was thinking. Where is the best place to get a replacement battery? I want to avoid knockoffs.

Mugen has a hi capacity battery for the Note 4 (twice the capacity) with custom back door.

I used to by Mugen batteries when PDAs were popular and I can say that their batteries are excellent.

I've looked at Amazon and just cannot tell the knockoffs from the real deal. Everything looks fine, says it supports things like NFC, etc, but then the reviews sort of tell otherwise.

Mugen - wow that really increases the thickness. Not really what I'm looking for, thanks.

As I said go to ebay, look for a seller with excellent feedback, if they have thousands of transactions and a feedback rating of about 99.3% or more you are on a safe bet. Phil

Hi,

Make sure that you get one that is shipped by Amazon themselves and not a shop that is simply using Amazon as a platform. Look for Prime items or at least those that offer free shipping if you spend over a certain amount. Then, if it turns out to be fake, you can at least return it without any stress.

Eric.

I have recently bought a spare battery with charger from Amazon UK. I bought the same for my wife's Note 3 a while back and she liked the idea so much I followed!
Basically charge your spare battery when it's out, takes around 2-3 hour's from flat to full. Do a search for Note 4 spare battery kit, Samsung code is

Hi evohicks, I have been doing this for years, so easy to carry a small battery around, this is one reason why I will not be moving to the latest Samsung phones with their none removable batteries, it looks like LG G4 Pro here I come as soon as it's released. Phil
