Bbm Like SMS?

Is there an app that's a SMS replacement, not an IM where the other party has to have the same app, where you can see if the other person read your message yet?

I have a lg ally

And the option in the standard SMS app only let's you know if they read a mms message, SMS only had an option to see if it was delivered, not read.

Try Handscent? There are a bunch of different skins you can choose from.

Pretty sure you gotta turn delivery reports on in order to see those. Networks don't get notified when you read your messages automatically unless you specify it in the message using the delivery reports method.
