Be wary of getting a replacement from VM.

So ever since i bought my phone the call quality has been iffy at times, sometimes getting a fuzzy sound. I decided to finally ask for a replacement phone cause im still under warranty. Got phone today and the call quality might have been slightly better but the phone was definitely used/refurbished. The edges of the phone where the speakers meet the screen were uneven, one side was high and one side was low, it made the phone feel cheap to how well my new (original) desire feels. Also the back cover didnt fit as good, when you picked it up there was a slight amount of play between the cover and phone.

Long story short is i unactivated it and reactivated my original phone. There definitely is something wrong with my earphone (speakers sound fine tho oddly) for call quality, but the fit and finish of the replacement they sent me did not outweigh the better call quality. So if you are thinking of sending your phone in for replacement be ready to get a refurb that is likely not as in good condition as your phone is. Even under the battery it was all scratched up.

I might ask for another before my warranty expires hoping i get a better one if my call quality bothers me that much in the future, maybe if i ask nicely they will send me a new one?

Call Quality is a very hard to measure in a non-controlled environment, I'm not at all surprised they sent a refurb as a replacement.

Ya but the phone i got didnt do the same crackling my phone has at times, its repeatable and there is something wrong with my current phone.

I just called VM and told them i was not satisfied with the replacement and i was sending it back to them instead of my original phone so they knew, i also asked them if they ever send out new phones and he said no they are all refurbished.

Here's another option for you: get one via warranty replacement that's in good enough shape to resell, and put that one on E-bay. And then buy a brand new phone. Used ones are selling for $70 to $180 (shipping from US to international bidders). You could end up refreshing your hardware and warranty for very little money.
