beautiful widgets - bad code?

Newbie
so a while ago i posted this thread http://androidforums.com/droid-all-...nstalled-software-un-rooting.html#post1993234

i thought that rooting my phone had caused some issues with slow-down and this weird issue with my icon/widgets dissappearing for a few seconds (up to 20 sometimes!) when i closed the physical keyboard.

i wiped the phone, did a factory reset, etc... and the problem didnt go away. what i didnt do, was wait to re-install my apps b/c i never had a problem with anything i had installed

between then and now, i had my phone replaced by verizon b/c the touchscreen went all wonky. i got the replacement phone and played with it a few days and i had the same issue. then that phone had an issue with the "a" button and space bar on the physical keyboard. so i got that phone replaced as well...same damn issue.

so a very dim light bulb went off in my head and it dawned on my that maybe one of my apps isnt playing nice with the rest of the system.

one-by-one i installed my apps over a good period of time and noticed everything was OK... until i got to beautiful widgets. as soon as i reinstalled beautiful widgets and loaded the beautiful smaller home widget on my home screen...the issue started right back up.

so i uninstalled beautiful widgets and my phone works again.

what stumped me was that beautiful widgets didnt always give me problems, it worked flawlessly for a very long time. im guessing somewhere between a android system update and a beautiful widgets update, this started.

anyone else experience this issue with the app? i love it and would hate to have to never use it again. any particular settings that might be causing this? id go through reinstalling and checking every setting one by one, but at this point, weatherbug and my calendar are doing just fine.

I've been using Beautiful Widgets for a year now, maybe longer. It just keeps getting better and better. I haven't had any appreciable issues with it for months and months. Then again, I ROM custom ROMs/kernels. And then there's always the factor of the infinite combinations of apps that a group of people use. You might have an app that's conflicting with BW.

I ran into an issue with BW as well in the last 2 months. I thought it was the phone and was getting pretty angry with it. Random lock ups, couldnt answer the phone because it wouldnt even let me slide the answer button over, and general slowness. I removed BW after seeing your last post about a week ago and so far phone seems like brand new, quick and responsive. It's a cool app and sucks that my phone seems to hate it especially for a paid app, but id rather lose a couple bucks then not be able to USE my phone. As far as 'New' apps that could be causing it, i run pretty minimalistic on the app side and only have 18 apps outside of what comes on the stock rom and they are all ones ive used for almost a year and even then i only regularly use 3 or 4 of them.

Never warmed up to BW. I just don't feel the weather updates work well for me. It seemed to never update properly. I went to weatherbug and never looked back. I really don't need a second huge clock on my screen anyway. The small one in the corner works just fine for me.

We are going to release a new 3.3.3 update, with hopefully more fixes and optimizations for all. Also my advice would be to switch to the superclock widgets instead of the smaller home, the superclock widget use globally less memory
