Beautiful Widgets Update on Market

I just checked the market for updates on my applications and there is an update for beautiful widgets. I thought this app was pulled from the market? Has anyone done this update?

I am afraid that if i update it will change the way it looks to something less appealing because of the whole HTC C&D letter.

Any input?
 
I have a feeling that the update may remove it. I would suggest just sitting on what you have. You backed it up already I hope. The app isn't in the market anymore, at least when I checked yesterday...or was it today...
 
Yeah i agree, i would stay away from that update too. It could write code to your phone to fubar it, even if you uninstall and reinstall from a back up
 
One commit in the market place says the update took away geolocaton and manual location settings. I think I'll skip the update.
 
I did backup the app with ASTRO. Can an update to an app remove it completely?

I wasn't planning on updating it until i found out from someone else what it does.
 
I don't see it in the market at all anymore. I got the last update before it disappeared for me and it still works fine. I don't think the dev would screw the app up. He sells other stuff and he wouldn't want to piss people off.

He just got a cease and desist. That doesn't mean he has to break existing copies of the app. I would assume the update removed copy protection so the app can be backed up.
 
It doesn't show up in the market if you search it but if you go to your downloads it will say there is an update. (At least in mine it does)

I dont think there was any protection to backup the app. I backed it up the other day just fine.
 
I am not going to continue to use it if it isnt actively supported anymore so wth, I'll update and see....

I see no difference whatsoever, Geolocation etc. working fine for me.
 
I updated but have not noticed a difference. However does not mean I have checked everything 100% But like GrandMasterB if it is not going to be supported why have it? I will play it out and see.
 
Yeah I have been using Beautiful Home and Beautiful Smaller Home and have not noticed a difference. The clock is still updating and the weather looks the same to me. With animation.... I just checked all the others and they look the same to me as well. I read the change log and he does not mention taking anything off other then fixing geolocation as the major issue being fixed in the last several updates.
 
The developer is supposed to drop the new Beautiful Widgets sometime on Friday. It will then show up as an update in your download list.
