Bedbuggy clothing

I took some suit coats to the dry cleaners. I was hoping there wouldn't be any bedbugs but of course there were. The guy called about it and might throw them away, but I thought they had some kind of process to kill them. Should I ask him about that? Some of them are pretty expensive, such as Jos. A. Bank.

Ok, I got them back. They're at least double bagged now. How do we launder expensive dry cleaning to get rid of the bedbugs?

Ironically dry cleaning should kill them, but I guess the dry cleaner didn't want to risk contaminating their premises (or other people's clothes).

Maybe speak to some more dry cleaners to see if there is one who is willing to take them?

I have managed to avoid bedbugs so far. If I did encounter them on my things I'd throw that thing away regardless if I could afford a replacement. I'd just do without until I could replace it.

I see that this is an old thread, but if you bag (plastic) clothes for 3 months or more it should kill them off.

Not sure if it would harm those particular clothes (test in a hidden area), but isoprophyl (rubbing) alcohol kills all insects within seconds of contact, and is cheap.
