Beginner's Advice on Personalisation.

Hey,

So just roaming through these threads it's easy to see that there are many varied seasoned professionals out there!

I'm an absolute noob with android and have just got my first (HTC Desire S).
Amazing phone, but I have no idea how to personalise it! Or what to do with it!

I've seen so many amazing tricks you can do with these phones. Can somebody help me get started? I have no idea what apps to even look for....

you can change pretty much everything on the phone


what but do you want to change?

dont just go out there and change everything because you can -only change what you need to change

How can I design my own background? Is it something I have to do on a laptop then transfer over to it? Also the placements of widgets and apps, do they have to stay in lines or can you alter the movement? Perhaps have them in a ring movement where I can scroll through them...

I'd like to change the lock system to if possible, I don't like the pull down action and am interested as to what I can do with it.

Overall I just want to make it more comfortable. At the minute I just fumble through the phone....

A good way to personalize your home screen to get home replacements on the market like LauncherPro and ADWLauncher. They change your homescreen with many different settings with customization.
