Can I get into a device by getting to the android recovery screen mode?

If you mean "bypass the lockscreen" then the answer is no - recovery is an entirely separate programme, so when you are in recovery then Android isn't running, and when you start Android up the lockscreen will activate.

Credit the developers with just a smidgen of intelligence.

The only thing I could add is that maybe you could factory reset it but if your looking for malicious intent, good luck with your illegal activities
