Benchmarks

So,

Some of the benchmarks of the Iphone 4S are available, I think on Phonedog site. As expected, just below the Ipad2. Not much was tested, but some of them show it outperforms SGSII quite a bit.

My question is: IOS supports harware graphics acceleration and multicore processing, while Android 2.3 does not, as far as I know (maybe I am wrong though).

Once the ICS released, should we expect the jump in benchmark scores on our phones? Significantly? ICS will support multicore processing and the rumor was it should also support hardware graphics acceleration as well.

Any comments?

Thanks

just wondering why didn't they just use quadrant for testing??

because anand wanted to demonstrate what an ios coded for a 2nd cpu core could do. Gingerbread (our os) isn't optimized for dual CPUs, while ios5 very much is.

When android 4 (ICS) is released, our phones @ 1.2ghz will be as fast if not faster than the 800mhz dual core A5 in browsermark.
