Benefits of Gingerbread?

from what ive experienced:

pros:

no lockscreen of death
no wifi error
ever so slightly smoother

cons:
smooth but when it does lag it LAGS
you cant send all apps to sd with the adb command like froyo (im deeply disappointed with this)
takes abit longer for screen to light up for unlock. and proximity sensor is much slower reacting.

to be 100% honest id stick with froyo for now, if i could EASILY go back to foyo i would

I already upgraded. This is the worst part of it. It takes at least TWICE as long to react to unlock and prox sensor.

How do you go back?

Wait! Chis, are you saying that Froyo is better than the 2.3.3? Or should we just wait for the 2.3.4? Not that it makes much difference, 2.3 is still not out here in India!!

These are only two drawbacks, IMO. Very happy with everything else. Don't understand why they changed that (I mean time to unlock and prox. sensor)

I upgraded using kies software.....I have an option to go back to froyo using kies emergency recovery function. But I wont be going back.

I've just updated. Everything looks pretty similar (or identical). I think that the unlock time it's faster, but maybe I'm thinking it's something else. The time when I have the initial screen and I slide the icon to open the desktop is at least the same as on Froyo, I think.

I haven't noticed the proximity, but I haven't been able to really play with it.

2.3.4 is officially released? Where are you from?

Nope sorry theres only official 2.3.3 update for Galaxy Ace
on kies at this moment, it was released just a while ago. :)
You have to flash it if you want to go further with the update 2.3.4

No, 2.3.4 is out, I updated it last friday or saturday. The release number might vary depending on the country. I'm in Mexico.

It means that's the L (latin america) version of the Galaxy Ace, which works with a different bandwidth
Thanks :p Can you tell us if you have 2 seconds unlock hang and the same with proximity sensor? Was very fast with stock 2.2.1 froyo rom (at least for me), now with ginger I have to wait 2 seconds  That pisses me off, specially with proximity sensor. Thanks in advance.
