Best Android smartphone 2018 - camera and cute stuff no important

There are many reviews that identify the best Android phones, but all give a heavy weight in their ratings to the camera, bitmojis and "cute stuff". These are things that I don't value but significantly raise the phone's price.

On the other hand I am happy to pay for functional features like processing power, storage capacity, toughness (seems like most new phones crack if you sneeze near them), water/humidity resistance, fingerprint scanning, etc.

Are there any "top 10" reviews that focus purely on functional features without considering camera and "cute stuff" in the rating?

They're out there but I think you're going to have to be very specific in your search. For example, when i search of the most powerful phones I got a few that focused on processing power only, but none of the other features you listed. I then searched for the toughest phones and found this article. Again, it's only dealing with one aspect and not an overall top performing, rugged, reliable device.

Unfortunately all that "cute" is what sells phones to your general consumer so the reviews know what side to butter their bread, as it were.

Thanks, good thinking. I might have to search for reviews one feature at a time.
