Best backup app for the hero???

MyBackup Pro, has always sent data over a secure network layer, as it is a MUST.

I beg to differ on the online security of other applications claiming online backups.

Although you get more space with some other apps, it is NOT transmitted over a secure channel (https, SSL). This is VERY bad news for anyone looking to securely transfer their data over the internet....

You will also find that the amount of space provided by us on our servers is MORE than sufficient for Data backups. If you want, you can contact our support team for any questions you may have at Support@RerWare.com

The ability to restore the data is what separates a good backup application from a non-sense, false sense of security, application.

So, how is this of any use for Android users than? We're talking about the hero here, not some wintendo- or fruit machine.

Best backup app for the hero would prolly be Titanium backup, but you'ld need root access to get that up and running (not a biggie IMHO).

If you don't want to root, I would suggest Sprite Backup - that backs up all your data. Than download AppBrain and synchronize your apps to the AppBrain website (you need to have an account there but it's free). Than copy that application list to a new list (call it 'backup' or something similar) on the AppBrain website. Wipe phone and install the new firmware. Than download AppBrain again from the market and restore from your backup list (a tedious job but at least it will search your previously installed apps in the market all by it self). Finalize by restoring Sprite's backup.

Looking at the link for the titanium one it states the phone must be rooted those that got problems are your phones rooted ?

sorry for posting this toooooo late....

but ROM manager (nandbakup) will not backup everything ... it just backup your rom ... but for your personal data (contacts, SMS .. etc) you need to have another application

i just got hurted yesterday

Thanks

The program app list backup will get you a simple list to click through, which is fine for me, as I don't want to screw up the market links, this way you can just hit one by one, but for many apps I understand that would suck

I have a limited data plan. So thinking of going for a paid app with no Ads. Which one do you suggest? Something with good quality & less expensive.
