Best Battery Life Phone

Hey all, i have a G1 and i dont know if its just my phone or battery or what. But the life is terrible, i have everything off, no brightness, timeout to 30s, all the wifi/bluetooth/etc is off. Yet after about an hour of takign it off a full charge it drops to 70%, i can barely make it 4-5 hours in a day when its not even being used!

Seeing that i want to upgrade anyway, so i can get the newer operating systems and better phone hardware, what phones right now have the best battery operating life?

I hardly use the phone for its data features. I basically use the phone as a phone,a decent amount of txt messaging, ill use wifi here and there, and ill manually sync some calendar items.

Im on T-mobile, whatre youre phone suggestions? Im trying to keep them at $300 or lower.

sounds like your battery is going bad. or something that you cant see is sucking the battery dry. i'd factory reset and if you've dont that already, i'd talk to t mobile about seeing if you can get a new battery.

Though i can definately say that the bettery life of my Behold 2 is so much better than the g1

Have you checked the forums for some tips on how to conserve battery life? Try searching for "battery" and you'll get tons of tips to extend your battery life. Some is as simple as downloading some sort of task killer and closing all the running apps that you don't use.

As for T-Mo, just go to their website and check out the their phones. Or you can go to eBay and search for "unlocked GSM phones".

I would suggest getting the Nexus One for T-Mobile, not sure if you're okay for an upgrade. If not, that's a bummer because it would cost you more than $300 without a 2 year plan.

[ADDED] Oh btw, getting the Nexus one won't solve your battery problems if you don't check out the battery saving tips somewhere in the forums. :)

I respect everyone's help in the thread. And yes, like Ive said, Ive DISABLED everything i can, its most likely the battery that's crapping out i would guess. Ive already ordered a replacement, just waiting for it to come in. And i do run taskkiller killing all the apps that get left in the background. What intruiges me is i saw a video of a guy running a droid on full screen brightness, with zero timeout, and playing music straight all day and the phone lasted 8 hours.

But my original question was asking about what newer gen phones are overall better in battery efficiency and hardware performance. I dont mind buying a new phone as i want the newer android OS, as i can only assume that is alot snappier then the 1.6 im running now. And the fact the G1 was the first first attempted its abilities arent all that great.

Ghost said the Behold 2 is alot better then the G1, well theres my first phone to look into. As long as its in my budget of $300 id be happy to grab one.

But im looking for more answers from more people that have experienced other phones so i can make a final decision. Thanks

these types of posts annoy me. try to help him. dont tell him to buy a new phone. i see that yes you did suggest some helpful advice b ut i dont think he wants to shell out 500 on a n1. Im sorry but i've been on these forums a little while now and im sick and tired of "hey my phone has this problem, what should i do" and the response they get is "just buy a [insert phone here]"

If you dont have anything constructive to say towards that individuals problem, then please refrain from saying it.

Dude, unless I'm missing something the OP asked "what new phones have the best Battery Life that I can get on T-Mobile?"

I'm pretty sure that was answered for him. What exactly are "these types" of posts? Ones that answer the question asked? Ya, those annoy me too...

How about a battery extender. You don't need a big one making your g1 all bulky but one that gives you alot more power and in the same size as the default battery.

i misread, i apologize.

Yeah, an N1 seems to be the big daddy. but i love my behold 2. so i'd sugggest a behold 2.

i've tried the cliq but its really (in my opinion) a different kind of G1. its keyboard is meh and it has a facebook/twitter app. its no big deal. and i agree with alot of people who say it just feels..unfinished.

The mytouch is really a g1 without a keyboard.
