best cheap but decent mobile phone needed

my mum is looking for a new mobile phone,currently she owns OT-660 / OT-660A from alcatel or e100 flip - (can find on google images) she likes the basic mobile phones, does not want smart phones and hates full touchscreens. she needs a sim free mobile phone that will hold signal quality while in the house. the current phone is poor on actually gaining and holding the signal, she uses tmobile in uk and the coverage is excellent where i am - my mum thinks its to do with the phone....... finding it hard to find a nice stylish phone costing between say

I think you are going to have a harder time asking on this forum. Most people are android users. That said, I will try and help.

So are there other tmobile phones that your mother has used in the house that get better reception? I ask because in my experience the reception issue doesn't usually have much to do with the phone, unless the phone is faulty somehow. You also mention sim-free. Perhaps I am simply unaware of how TMO EU operates, but I thought they were a GSM carrier that used sim cards.

she had an ancient nokia mobile, didnt have colour, but that was sim free and the signal was brilliant.. but due to the uglyness of it we decided to update - since then signal became the issue, i suppose no matter wat kinda fon i get either its going to get a good signal or not, think i may have found a fon so will get n try,,
