Best email client for Note 2

If you only use Gmail then the official Gmail app is pretty good. If you have multiple accounts, MailDroid is the best in my opinion.

The gmail official app is decent, didn't try MailDroid but my one concern about the stock email app is that it always replies from the account that is linked to it. For example:

I run my hotmail account through gmail (i.e. anybody who emails me at my hotmail address, the email forwards thru gmail and I see it and on my iPhone, when I reply, it would show replying from hotmail whereas the android stock app will always reply from my gmail address). Does anybody have a solution for that? Or I guess tell me a good android email app?

do any of these programs-paid or not- let you filter email to folders? for example I can mark a message from a friend and set up a rule to have it go to a folder called friends?
do the same for other emails like work? etc.
GRATEFUL for any help

There's a mail.com app. Its pretty good. I'm currently using aqua though. I switch between the two when I'm switching roms.

That's easy. On the stock email app, just remove the default email from Gmail. Or just tap the "send from" space on the top of the email and choose which email you want to send it from.

The official yahoo, Hotmail/outlook, and Gmail apps all have the ability to show whatever folders you've created on your account along with whatever rules you've created. But none of them display notifications.

I set up folders on gmail. I even created a filter for all the contacts I want to hear from go to a special mail folder. Sadly it doesn't work!!! this is on gmail.com
:-(

Tried this already. The default is if you run multiple accounts from the Gmail app and it is the default one you send from and doesn't apply For my needs.

When I click on the space on top that you're taking about, it only shows the account that I use and that's my Gmail.

I'd love to know the answer to my concern.

I meant the default email app, not the default gmail app. Its separate. Separately sync all of your accounts to the email app without them having to go through Gmail

I run my Hotmail through Gmail for push capabilities. If I can push my Hotmail with the stock email app, I want to do that. Can anybody confirm?

I have a roadrunner account, but since I have gmail on the phone I see no need to maintain two separate email accounts. Actually it's 3 accounts because I use 2 for roadrunner.

I have my roadrunner email set to forward all emails to my gmail account, and delete them from roadrunner.

I have gmail setup to reply from the email account the email was sent to, and I have filters in gmail to put emails in specific labels.

All of that works fine. The only time there is a problem is when the receiving ISP doesn't allow email spoofing.
For instance, if I send an email to my job from my gmail account as my roadrunner account, the email shows up as my gmail account on behalf of my roadrunner account. Most others see it as just roadrunner.

Oh you want push? The stock email app afaik can only do hourly refresh. You could use the official hotmail app though, I think it supports push. AFAIK it has been renamed to Outlook.

I don't have a Hotmail account so I don't know about them but MailDroid is the only client that I've found capable of handling push from a Yahoo! account (except the official Yahoo client). Maybe they work similarly. And as the other poster said the official Hotmail should work although you can't have many different accounts with that.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do. Do you use the stock mail app? How do you spoof? I can't figure it out.

Maildroid. Aqua is good too but you can't fully zoom out on html email. TD for outlook at work. They require a passcode and I don't want to lock down my entire phone.
