Best GPS app?

Hello, I am looking for the best GPS navigation app that doesnt require internet to run, only GPS. What would you recommend me? Galaxy S2 by the way.

I'm a Navfree man myself.

Works completely offline. A handy feature is you can connect online just long enough to do a Google based search for a business from within the app, then go back off line. Their way of organizing favourite locations was a weak point. What I really loved was
1-the simplicity of the display...they didn't try to cram to much map detail in there. You can see exactly what you need at a glance without distractions. Upcoming turns are intuitively displayed. Even the color scheme is simple and brings out the important info. It's hard explain, but these guys just got it right.
2-when browsing an area of the map (for example previewing a trip from home), you can find the name of a street by tapping on it. Brilliant...why don't they all have that.

When I updated to the recent version on my backup phone, I see the display is getting more cluttered. So I haven't updated the app on my daily driver phone....still have the version from a year ago.

You can see there are varying opinions. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the ones mentioned.

You could try Nokia's free Sat Nav app 'Here'. If you download the maps you want it can be used offline. The Company has just been bought by the German car makers but I understand the app is still available (for the time being at least) from Google Play.

"Here's" sterling benefit is that it is free. However, my personal preference is 'TomTom Go Mobile'. I have been using it for about a year and am well pleased with it. It costs 15 GBP per annum or 35 GBP / 3 years but since it includes traffic information I view that as a subscription for an ongoing service.

My two favorites are Mapfactor Navigator and Here Maps.

Both are great FREE offline GPS navigation apps.

I've been using Magic Earth, which is from the same developers as Route 66. It's free, offline, and has spoken street names, 3D navigation view, and search with address numbers. It hasn't failed me yet.
