Best Group Chat messaging app

What's the best group chat app like whatsapp and viber that can add maximum members in its group chat?

I use Hangouts. Though skype, teamviewer and others offer specialised advantages.

I am asking some app like whatsapp and viber that adds contacts on the basis of contacts in phone. But for hangouts we have to add contacts through ID. So far, I came to know are Telegram and kakaogroup. Anyone better than these?

Well, basically the best one to use would be the one most of your contacts are using. It won't make sense to use say, Kik when none of your contacts have it.

Personally I like GroupMe - mainly because while it has an app it also operates over SMS and only the person setting up the group needs to sign up.
