Best IM Client For Android

Now before you say this is posted a million times and link me to other threads, just read. I have been searching for the best IM client for Android, and while my favourite one so far was MSN Talk, I just can't stand the constant server polling. So I searched and searched for a push to talk IM client. Palringo was apparently push to talk, but it doesn't actually mention that in the Android version, so I think that's only for the iPhone version.

Anyway, I kept searching and found this:
eBuddy for Android now with push | eBuddy Blog

So yay eBuddy, you have found a home on my phone! What do you guys think?

I'm trying to find the best IM Client in terms of Data usage & battery life. So far eBuddy doesn't really effect my battery life with it's push notifications, on for 7 hours today and only used 1% battery life. How's trillian in terms of battery life?

Also, I was trying to figure out how much data would be used roughly, per hour of having a chat client on. I know my email client uses about 300-600kb per day. So I was thinking roughly the same figures for an IM Client?

Been using eBuddy since Android 1.5 and it's always worked great. Nice notifications, no crashing, it gives you a couple of different viewing ways. Good stuff.

Awesome! I think I'm going to stick with this one. No other ones I know of support push messaging.

Trillian and Beejive both have push, but ebuddy's free. And I don't really like trillian, so I'll probably be switching to ebuddy now.

Dang didn't know Trillian had push. It's not free though?

Yeah I was looking at Beejive, but haven't seen any great reviews about it in the market place so I didn't bother testing it out!

My favorite so far is imo.im. I constantly have AIM, Skype, & Yahoo connected & I don't experience any battery drain. As far as push to talk, I use Hey Tell.

I just noticed today that eBuddy disconnects when on a 3G connection. This is really frustrating. I'll have to give trillian a try. What's imo.im, is that an app or a website? I'll give that a try too!

Thanks everyone :)
