best IM?

I have been using eBuddy and have been quite happy with it. I use it for hotmail, yahoo, myspace, facebook, ICQ, msm and Gtalk.

+1 for eBuddy. Only minor issue I noticed with it was when setting up my AIM account. I use the username brykXXXns@gmail.com as my login address for MSN, Google Chat and AIM but eBuddy would not accept it as a valid user name. Had to use the web version of eBuddy and add it there, then it synced with the handheld version.

Overall, good though, although no feedback from eBuddy themselves when I asked about this issue OR when I asked about the ability to add a nickname (or rename) a contact.

If I were you I would edit your real email out of that post STAT. Unless you love spam. Assuming that's your real addy. Spammers crawl forums like these looking for emails to harvest.

I get constantly disconnected with every IM application I've tried (at least for MSN connectivity...this is what my company uses...I know, sad) (on both my G1 and now on my N1). This includes Nimbuzz (which at least does a decent job of trying to log me back on automatically), IM+, Hi MSN, and Meebo. The worst part is that most of these don't even show that I've been disconnected...still shows me and all of my contacts as still being online, but IM's that I send are not received, and all of my contacts show me as being offline. Talk about annoying.

Is ebuddy any better, or does this also suffer from the same random disconnect problem?

I have not had any disconnect problems but like any app here, YMMV. Are you using any task killers that may be getting in the way?
