Best looking android phone?

Hi all,

I am due an upgrade after 2 years and have decided to get a decent phone for a change. I generally like the look of the new breed of phones but am trying to find something that looks premium and stylish. This matters more to me than specs (vain I know!)

I was wondering what in your opinion is the best looking mobile phone. Preferably running android. I like the look of the (cyan) Nokia Lumia 800, which seems sleek and stylish and a bit different from the standard iphone-esque look of phones - what puts me off a little is the Windows OS.

Am also looking at the white Samsung Galaxy S2, which looks pretty nice (nicer than the upcoming S3 as far as I can see).

Thanks.

For me, I love my Galaxy Nexus, but the HTC One X is one sexy beast. One of the more interesting questions I've seen in a while.

Thanks. Am looking at some video reviews of the HTC now.

To be honest, the more I look at the Nokia Lumia, the more I like it. The Windows OS looks pretty quirky and a bit different, too - I'm not someone who needs billions of apps. I like the minimalist design from good materials (i.e. avoiding the plastic-y look).

The Lumia 900 is certainly a sexy device and if I had any desire to move to WP7 that would be the phone to buy. Among the latest and greatest of Androids, I'd say both the One X and S are the best followed by the Nexus and Galaxy Note.

I was thinking One S for Android. The X is a beaut, but the smaller, slimmer S would be my choice if aesthetics were the main factor.

The Panasonic Eluga is a bit Nokia Lumia in looks, but woefully under-specced - 4GB storage, no expansion, small battery. I know you said specs are less important but I could not recommend that with a clear conscience.

I know what you mean about the higher end Nokias - put Android on one and I'd be interested, but WP isn't flexible enough for me. But these things are personal.

The high end Lumias are indeed awesome looking devices. Only problem they have is I have need of use for certain apps that WP doesn't have yet.

Have you checked out the Sony Xperia line? They're pretty good looking.

Umm, aesthetically speaking it really depends

Smaller phones (<4"):
-HTC Wildfire S (so cute and comfy ^__^)
-Xperia RAY (very sleek and sexy)
-Xperia NEO
-HTC Desire V (only in china)

Bigger Phones (>4"):
-Galaxy Nexus
-Nexus S
-HTC EVO 3D
-Meizu MX (only in china)
-Xperia Arc

Bottom line: In terms of design and aesthetics, you really can't go wrong with HTC and Sony Erricson Xperia

HTC has really improved on all of their design aesthetics and i would say that you coudn't go wrong with any of their stuff. Im a bit weird but personally ive come to really love the way the EVO LTE looks. For as much as i hated it the first time i saw it, the design has really grown on me and now i think it looks sexy as hell

Don't laugh but I think LG makes the prettiest phones. Too bad for some reason it never leaves Asia or Europe. Haha.

The new optimus lines look really nice, IMO. I even think the Lucid is a good looking phone except the battery cover feels cheap.

Anyways, other than that my pick would go to the one series as well. Those phones look super and feel great.

Thanks all. I am now thinking about the HTC One S. I don't need all the high end specs of the X and Hadron makes a good point that the S is slimmer than the X. Only possible spec that may make me pause is the quality of the screen, which a couple of reviews have mentioned.

I still really like the Lumia's design but think I would struggle to cope with the Windows OS, particularly things like Windows Live ID and Bing being forced on me over google.

I would be interested to know how widespread the 'chipping' issue is with the HTC One S black, though. Some people claim it's a fault with the way the coating is applied and so affects pretty much every phone - HTC say it's a rare issue. Anyone care to comment? Don't want to buy a phone that's going to have its paintwork chipping after a few weeks.

the galaxy note in white is absolutely gorgeous. my gf has it and it looks much better than my dark blue note.

Galaxy S3 will trump all, when it drops here. Till then, the Galaxy Nexus is the best looking.

If your choosing a phone based on outter appearance, why don't u get an iphone? Still the best looking phone, imo (dodges tomatoes)

Check out the Meizu MX. It's a good-looking dual core android phone. It also has a Quad Core version called the Meizu MX Quad-Core.

My missus has a Lumia 800 and it is a very pretty phone but the windows software on it is awful, the marketplace is rubbish compared to android and you can't even use bluetooth on it (seriously, it's like 8 years old!) and it's very difficult downloading files, it prefers you to use skydrive for everything... not great if you are outside and have to use your 3g for streaming.

I have a One X and think it's a lovely looking piece of kit, also think the new sony phones look lovely except for that weird block on the bottom (what is that for?) and I have to admit after thinking it looked horrible, I've seen an S3 up close and it looks much better than it does in the pictures.

lol, iPhone looks like it's out of the dark ages compared to many of the new phones... think the iphone 5 will have a new design, possibly a bigger screen. I put mine up against my friends 4s and it looked really old and tatty.
