Assuming all phones that will be available on T-Mo by Mothers Day Weekend, which one do I get? I have full upgrade available and *according to reliable rumor* they will all be free with 2yr upgrade.
Convince me please. I am leaning One S.

One S is clearly the best phone they have.

Only issues people might have with it are no replaceable battery and no micro sd (you get about 12GB of data storage as it's partitioned).

If one decided to go contract, is this the best time of the year to buy from T-Mobile? Will all phones be free?

I can only tell you that two "Customer Loyalty" and one Store Rep all said they heard Mothers Day and Fathers Day Weekends would be free phones on 2 yr upgrade and new contract. Nothing in writing though.
I am expecting that whatever the promotion is, we will hear about it early next week.
If memory serves me, the special ran Friday through Sunday last year.
I would keep an eye on Best Buy as well. They hate being beaten on deals

Mothers Day Ad should break tomorrow or Thursday according to the store rep I spoke to today.

Also, I wonder if the GS3 might be out in time for the Father's Day promotion.

Out of curiosity, what is T-Mobile's ETF?

T-Mo TOS said:
THE EARLY TERMINATION FEE IS: $200 IF TERMINATION OCCURS WITH MORE THAN 180 DAYS REMAINING ON YOUR TERM; $100 IF TERMINATION OCCURS WITH 91 TO 180 DAYS REMAINING ON YOUR TERM; $50 IF TERMINATION OCCURS WITH 31 TO 90 DAYS REMAINING ON YOUR TERM; AND THE LESSER OF $50 OR YOUR MONTHLY RECURRING CHARGES (including any applicable taxes and fees) IF TERMINATION OCCURS IN THE LAST 30 DAYS OF YOUR TERM.

T-mo T&C

Actually depends how far along you are. If you call in and ask the computer voice for "customer loyalty", you may get it reduced or waived. They could also beg and plead with a smoking deal to keep you.

Actually, I'm on Virgin Mobile right now. I'm just always looking for other options. I'm pretty much done with the contract world. The pre-paid is just too appealing. Had I signed a contract the last time I wouldn't be able to do what I'm doing now. That's why I'm considering just getting the phone and holding out till the rebates in then canceling. I'm just making sure that there won't be anthing extra besides that $200 etf. That I can handle and it would be well worth it for a phone worth 500-600 dollars.

There has to be a snag here??? The premise is to sign up for a new 2 year contract, or to renew a contract, get the free phone, get the rebate, and then cancel, pay the $200 early termination fee, and "walk away" with a $500 phone for $200?

Will they be insulted to the point they might refuse letting you move over to a non-contract plan?

Will be curious how this turns out.

I know right? I know this must have been encountered already because they did this promotion last year, but I haven't been able to find it mentioned.

If they do allow this though, I don't see any reason why it's not on the up and up. I'm a monster deal hunter (thank you slickdeals.net), but I'm always careful to be ethical in it (I won't drop a phone in the sink to cash in on the warranty). As far as I can tell with this there is no reason to think doing it would be unethical if you are following all their rules.

I'm still thinking that there must be some gotcha somwhere I'm missing, but we'll see.

I haven't seen anything yet from T-Mobile on this. Best Buy has the One S for $149 on a new contract and $199 for a renewal.

You are correct sir on the Best Buy pricing. 2 year upgrade price went up $50.
The sale is a no go. Dunno what happened, but sometimes rumors don't go the way we hope. I am stuck waiting as well.
