Best noise isolating headphones

RWFarley

Newbie
I commute through a VERY NOISY trains station, with noisy trains. I need headphones very good isolation. I want to replace my aging Nokia BH-103s which are quite good but wearing out.

I'd appreciate recommendations for noise isolating earphones (Bluetooth and wired) with an emphasis on isolation.

Thanks

Update:
With My Nokia BH-103s, I can set the volume on "1" or "2" for my train commute.

With "Creative WP-250 Active Bluetooth Headphones with Invisible Mic" {Bluetooth} there's 0 isolation. With volume at "10" I still missed some of the conversation.

With "NoiseHush NX50 3.5mm Stereo Headset" {wired} there's very poor isolation. volume at "7" to "9".

Sennheiser PXC 450
Bose Quiet Comfort 15

You did say you wanted BEST. You'll be looking at prices around $300 for these.

Fair enough, but I was hoping for something pocketable like I have now. By "Best" I was referring to the degree of isolation, as I'm usually listening to podcasts which have poor source fidelity.

Things like these (sennheiser PXC 310 BT?) could be options if I can't find plugs....

Pocketable? I thought you said headphones? There is a difference between headphones and earphones.

Beats Studio has great cancelling, bad audio quality for the price.

If you're looking for earphones, try looking for earplug types. However its difficult to say which is the best in that situation since everybody's ear shape is different. I use the Philips O'neill Specked earbuds though.

Ya, earPLUGS. Sorry for the confusion.

I had good luck with a Plantronics Voyager 855 {discontinued} and Nokia BH-103.

Do the Beats have good isolation? I bought some plugs from Target that have 0 isolation.

Beats are overpriced, but they do have good isolation. A Beats Tour with Control Talk has good isolation and is priced at $200. The Philips O'Neill Specked has equal level isolation with Beats earphones with a more balanced output (Beats tends to over emphasize bass, drowning other more subtle tunes) for $50. Your choice. :)

Basically speaking, Beats earphones have the quality of something less than 1/3 of their prices. Although that's to say that they're so expensive, they're more than twice as much as headphones of the same category as they are.

Philips O'Neill Specked should work for the wired. Now the hard part, good isolating Bluetooth plugs!

Any suggestions?

You could always use wired earphones of your choice and a Sony stereo bluetooth adaptor, that's what I do and I find it works great.

Ya, my Nokia BH-103s are a pendant style, which is much like an adapter. Only they're starting to show their wear. I was thinking something new, but it's impossible to find information on how much (if any) noise isolation there is from the spec sheets. I was hoping for a "testimonial" ...

I work for Best Buy and The Bose over the ear headphones are 199.99 at best buy. I think that the ear bud Bose IE2 have better sound and they are only around 99.99.

If you listen to a lot of rock you may want to look at the beats, they are around the same prices as the Bose ones (Usually the over the ear ones are 199.99 and earbuds are 99.99) but they are specifically made for hard rock and rap.
