Best [non cross-platform] Group Chat App?

I only specified "non cross-platform" because I know that chase is a whole new ball game. I know this because I went down that road a million times over the summer...

Now that all my closest friends have Droid devices (yay!) I just need to find the best messager app that supports a good group chat. We were using PingChat! but it had a problem with missing a lot of messages and also deliverying things out of order. Any other suggestions?

for non cross-platform how about just gtalk? Supports group chat and already comes installed.

I think Google Talk handles group chat. Can't say it's the best but it works.

Always qualify what you mean by best. It's a highly subjective word. Is group chat the only concern or are there other criteria?
