although there are many good PDF readers out there, i find them all to be quite slow and by that i mean in terms of zooming in, or flipping through many pages.

do pdfs need 2b 'optimized' to b viewed on a phone?
i'm using the samsung galaxy s2 and its a blazing fast phone but when zooming a 150MB pdf, its frustratingly slow :(

any thoughts?

have not tried them... yet :)

how big are your pdf files usually?
do they zoom in/out quickly/smoothly?

Up to 15MB (manuals).
Zoom in/out isn't problem with both apps, but Adobe Reader is slow with rendering after zoom.

EDIT: You could also try qPDF Notes.
They say their app works good with big files and they have a demo app.

You might try Documents to Go. It may be more than you want, but to me it is very worthwhile. It comes with a suite of software that handles PDF, MS Word Docs, Excel and other things. PLUS, after you download the desktop companion, it will also sync documents you select between your device and your desktop. I find that very handy. Oh, yes, it does fine with PDFs. ;)

when i say pdf's i'm referring to magazines not manuals.
as such, the mags are generally between 100MB - 250MB so maybe its the size which makes it slow?

or?

ezPDF Reader all the way. It renders heavy PDF files (20-25MB) on my measly Blade which has a 600MHz processor, with ease. It should be blazing fast on a Galaxy S2.
