Best phone for £300 or less?

I'm passed paying big bucks for flagships, and I've had this iPhone 4 for like 4 years to the point where I'm thoroughly bored to death of it.

Quite a few places I've looked recommend the new Moto G5 Plus as the best budget phone, only reason I haven't pulled the trigger is because every time I look at a Huawei design it looks sleeker, I'm fussy I know.
One Plus 3t has also been recommended, can never find it for under £300 though.

Only things I'm looking for is a great camera and the latest version of android, not overly fussed as long as I get those two things.

Any recommendations?

Is it very old stock or something? I wouldn't bother. Even most new cheapo China phones are now coming with 6.x Marshmallow.

I'd have to be pretty desperate to buy an unknown Chinese phone anyway: zero support, probably zero quality control, so a lottery what you get.

Do you know that, or are you just inferring from the specs? If it has decent(ish) specs but crap quality then the hardware would by definition not be good.

It's also not really relevant to the OP's question, since they were asking about a different category of device, and particularly for recent Android version (and that phone will never receive an update, because not bothering with updates is one of the ways those manufacturers keep the costs down).
