Best Samsung Galaxy S4 Shockproof Cases - Help/Advice, please?

I've been searching for hours trying to find an excellent shockproof case for a Samsung Galaxy S4. I'm starting to get really muddled and confused as to what to go for (not to mention a headache from searching ).

First off, I want to purchase this screen protector here. I like what I see and how it's been so excellent for so many customers. I want a superior tempered glass screen protector and this one seems to fit that bill.

However, what case can I use to go along with that that would fit and offer excellent shock absorption? This screen protector I'll be purchasing seems to fit seamlessly on the Samsung Galaxy S4.

I've seen this case here (please scroll up to see product once you open the link), and while there aren't any reviews on the Canadian Amazon site, there are plenty on the US site.

Is that a good one? Will it work well with the screen protector that I'm planning on getting? Are there others that someone can recommend? I'm on an immensely tight budget, so nothing more than $20, maybe $25 Canadian would be beneficial for me. I'm not really wanting a case that has an additional screen protector to it as I'm already buying one. I'm hoping for one that won't add too much additional bulk to the phone and a case that won't be difficult for the charging adapter and headphones/earbuds to fit into. The suggestion I posted is about as bulky as I want to get.

Thank you so very much for your help and advice! :D;)

You came to the right place to ask this question :) Let me first start by mentioning, I'm not talking out of my ... because I review A LOT of accessories on AF (as well as XDA). You can check out a sticky at the top of this forum section or direct link: http://androidforums.com/threads/twister-reviews-of-android-accessories-and-gadgets.796475/ - scroll down to cases for S4 to get some idea how they look and see a ton of pictures.

The good thing, S4 is an old phone, so prices on premium cases are way down now, on a level of cheap chinese cases, so you should be able to get within your budget. And speaking of budget, don't limit yourself to $20-$25 if you find something fitting $30-$35 price range. You save $5-$10, and end up paying $100 to replace a screen when it falls down and cracks.

Tempered glass - don't spend more than $10. They are all the same, no matter what super-duper claim some manufactures make charging double or triple of that. Most of it made in China for $2-$3 anyway. The link to screen protector you posted look good enough :)

With a case, I would NOT buy the one in the link you provided. It's a cheap knock off of Otterbox Defender with an addition of that swivel kick-stand ring. I tested real and fake Otterbox cases for comparison. When a new phone is being introduced, Otterbox charges $60 for a case while its hot. 6 months later, price goes does significantly to the level of knockoffs. The problem with knockoffs, they will provide protection because of the "bulk", but the color will fade, plastic will crack, TPU shell will dry out and crack, and it will have a smell for awhile until it airs out. Anyway, case like this makes sense if you are looking for Galaxy S6 case and Otterbox is expensive, but Otterbox Defender and Commuter for S4 are $16-$26, so I would recommend you getting those. Plus, you will have 2-3 year replacement warranty on it. In my opinion, since you are getting tempered glass, go with Commuter since Defender plastic cover wont work with it. The same with that other knock-off case, it won't work with tempered glass.

Hope this helps!

I recommend this

This is my new case. And I like it so far.
The screen protector provided with the case is phenomenal; stronger and more full coverage than with the protector provided with the others.
The fit on the phone is just right, though you may find it to be pretty stiff initially. All port openings perfectly located so you never have to remove the case (unless to retrieve micro sd card or battery of course). Raised slightly above the screen as well for added protection. Volume and power buttons work perfectly as well, but may need a little massaging at first, but nothing to be put off by.
Hope this helps :)
