Best Scientific Calculator on Play Store 2013

As number of apps on play store are growing like weed so its necessary to review the list of best apps till date regularly. I was looking for the best calculators on play store and went through some of the articles on internet. But those articles are almost obsolete so I decided to write this post. At least this will be useful for next few months.
Following are the main features I considered to rate the apps.

a. Ease of use
b. Visibility of the complete expression
c. Features
d. Smoothness
e. Graphics.

So here is the list of top 5 android apps. from 5 to 1.

HF Scientific Calculator is the only one from this list that supports graphs. Basically it is a scientific calculator with tons of complex operations. There is also a feature to calculate equations. What we also liked are the arrows that enable you to move through numbers and operations. Also, great feature of this app is that you can choose different modes of calculation. You can choose: scientific, basic, complex, base in, matrix, equation or graph mode. its cons are maybe the ads and complexity of use.

4. Real Calculator Scientific Calc :

The best rated and the most popular calculator on Google Play is the Real Calculator Scientific Calc. Rated from over 80k users, RealCalc is the #1 Android scientific calculator. Very smooth and ad free. Its biggest con is that complete expression is not visible, and because of it in rare case I observed that it spoils the BODMOS rule.

3. Shake Calci:

Its names comes from the shake to get result feature. The first part of the app gives you simple operations and if you want to switch to calculate complex operations just tap to left. Great GUI.

2. Mobi Calculator FREE:

Like ShakeCalc, Mobi Calculator FREE is simple and ad free calculator, with nice UI, big buttons and it has simple and also complex, scientific operations. What is cool about this app is that the result is just below the operations and numbers and it constantly changes when you add operations and numbers. The old name of the app is Cube Calculator and reading some of the reviews I noticed some loyal users using it from back then.

This is the recently launched on play store but has got very good user response. It is smooth like real calci and has maximum of the features, and equally easy to use with stunning and intuitive graphics. I am extremely impressed by the way it has arranged the buttons. Even a child can operate it. It is combination of programmers, statistics and scientific calculators all in one. And it has rich help content.

The biggest advantage of realcalci is that its based upon the traditional calculators viz. Casio scientific calculator, HP scientific calculator. But traditional calculators hd a limitation of not displaying complete expression. Now time has changed. Developers can make use of rich gui features on android. Realcalci is best solution for those who thinks that transition from traditional calculator to advanced ever evolving calculator is hard.
Anyway its just a matter of choise and choise should not have reason.

I've been building statistics and analysis packages for government research and industry for 40 years.

I'm surprised to find that I chose my calculator, very much like the Casio fx-115, because I found it hard to transition from a traditional calculator.

I also have a lot of respect for the HF Scientific Calculator.

My point remains, you're pretending to present an unbiased review when all you're really after is to rate your calculator at the top.

But you may be better at math than I am.
 
Let me clear it,
1. I am not pretending to be unbiased, I am unbiased
2. My intention is to let people know which is the best calci on play store considering the 5 parameters I mentioned.
3. I designed an app considering those 5 parameters in mind. I found remaining 4 apps to be really great but then I thought to design an app wich will have the best features of all of those plus some more features.

Though I intend to rate my app as the best 1 but that is secondary for me. I wanted to have an updated article about scientific calculators so I wrote it. And maths is my obsession so I want the best mathematical app on play store and I am bound to build the best possible mathematical app on play store out of my absession.

But there is a serious problem with your "review". I can sum it up in one quote:

"I am extremely impressed by the way it has arranged the buttons."

You wrote the app, but you wrote the review as if you had not. Most people reading it who did not do some digging would not realise that it was your app you were rating, and phrases like the one I quote were clearly intended to give the impression that you were unconnected, because nobody writes stuff like that about their own work!

It's perfectly fine to put a post in Application Announcements saying "I wrote this, and I think this is the best calculator out there, and this is why". Writing a "review" that does not acknowledge authorship and gives the impression of independence is a different matter altogether. The word for that is not "unbiassed"...
 
Why would I unconnect myself from the app I designed?
I did not mentiom the ownershio of app because I am a writter and app analyst first. And becausen of that I felt that I have to design something better rather than finding the faults in other apps.
I wrote this article as a writter and experienced analyst of softwares. Not as a developer. There is no trick in it. If there was any trick I was playing I wouldnt have accepted the ownership of my app.
Its not about promoting my app, its about writting an unbiased review for the sake of healthy competition and better amdroid apps. Thats all. And I mean every word I say or write.

If you give a "review" that does not mention your connection to one of the products being reviewed that is misleading to the reader. It is now clear to any readers of this thread that you are the author, but until Early raised this it was not. So if it had been left with just what you wrote most readers would not know that you have an interest in one of the apps being reviewed. The word I would use for that is "deceitful".

You owned up when caught, but made no attempt to inform the reader prior to that that you had a vested interest, and phrased your review in a way that implied that you did not. It would have been simple to put a disclaimer in to state that you were the author of the app, but you chose not to do so.

If your intentions are as honourable as you say, just regard this as a lesson: when writing about something you are connected to, it is always good practice to make the connection clear to the reader. Then everything is open and it allows the reader to make their own judgment about any possibility of bias. Whether you believe you can write independently or not is irrelevant, because it's not up to you to judge whether you might be biassed about your own work. In the real world people lose jobs by writing without declaring an interest in what they are writing about, so hiding a connection like that is not acceptable.
 
I just found this app : Tech Calc +. It has all the features you want, like full scientific mode, HEX, BIN, OCT, DEC programmers mode, Graphing, Conversions, Matrix ops, Time Calcs, Programmable Formulas, even a Periodic Table. I downloaded the free version, then upgraded to the paid version for only .99 cents. You can change key colors and scrolling - lots of options. I highly recommend this new app for you SciCalc heads out there.
