Apps Best suited colors for Student applications

Can you suggest me what are the best suited interface color combinations for a student application ?

What age group are the students the app is aimed at? Which can be Kindergarten and upwards of course.

It is about university level students, from bachelor, BS hons to masters level students. With computer science, IT, Software engineering, biology, and much more stuff like that

You should generally use neutral colors: white, gray etc ..
One "main" color (blue,green,purple) and one contrast color...
