Best tablet Malware protection?

Anyone know of good malware protection for our tablet? I use AVG on my phone, but it would seem there really is little support for tablet users. I guess the Prime makes it a little more complicated as it is not 3g and as such features like SMS lock and Clear will not work.

I know AVG has a tablet version, but at over 6 quid its just not going to happen. So any ideas? Some with the same lock and clear features without SMS would be nice. I did look at Lookout, but you have to register with that just to use it and as I'm only testing I do not want to sign up or pay for anything just yet!

Been using Lookout for my Droid Charge , paid version, for awhile with no issues what-so-ever ! Just installed on my Prime and seems to work flawlessly. I believe I paid $29.99, but that covers 2 devices !

Scans all apps
One feature I liked is once you register and lets say you lose your phone, you go to Lookout's homepage and track and locate, disable or set off alarm, wipe data on your lost or stolen phone !

Locating device a moot point on the Prime with it's misleading GPS feature !

And don't listen to people who say, " You don't need antivirus/spyware with Android" !

There's an old saying where I come from.............Better safe than sorry !

I use Lookout as well but the free version. Not sure if you get better protection if you buy it. I've had it on my phone for over a year and nothing bad has ever got through.

Thanks for the replies.

I agree you do need malware protection, but there is noway I am paying

avast! seems to be the best option for Android. It's free of course, no point paying for this kind of thing imo. My friend who works in mobile security recommended it (he doesn't work for avast!)

Cool! I use avast! at home and love it. Didn't know they had a mobile version. I'm switching from Lookout to avast!

Mmm, very nice. I use to use Avast some years ago on my PC, seems pretty good so far. Shame I don't have root access though. But it pretty much covers all my needs.

Only 2 down sides I see so far is the SMS system and the fact it only protects the default browser. Mind you, if you set your new browser to open by default I guess that may work for it?!
