Best way to play music library through TV surround sound?

Curious to get some ideas on the easiest and most effective way to play my music collection through my TVs surround sound?

Music is on my laptop. I would like to do this through wireless/Bluetooth and avoid physically hooking up my laptop to my TV (via HDMI). Ideally, I want to to walk anywhere in my house and be able to control what song is played through my TV. I would also like to be able to watch the TV while listening to my music at the same time.

Open to hear all options. I also have a desktop that I can use and the S3. Thanks in advance!

Audio out jack? All modern tvs have multiple inputs for audio. The two or three there usually are, are 1/8'' stereo, optical, and digital.
Depending on your computer you could use any of them, and for sure 1/8'' which is the regular speaker jack or headphone jack.

And in your tv menu there should be a way to switch your audio.

Or perhaps your surround sound system has another connection available. My surrounds sound system has 2 hdmi which carries both sound and picture, 2 optical, 1/8'', and 1 set of RCAs. And I can turn that on and just press the select button to change between the different sources

thanks for the response. But as I mentioned in the original post, I dont want to physically connect the laptop to the TV. I would like to walk around the house with it as the music plays.

Ahh sorry read over that.. you could go with a wireless transmiter / receiver system. HP has one that is decent called "HP Wireless Audio" and on the computer side its just a usb stick that transmits the audio, and there is a receiver that you can connect to anything and I believe the connections it has is the 1/8'', RCA, and digital.

You can pick one up Here on amazon. There are also cheaper versions of the same thing. Just google "wireless audio transmitter and receiver usb" and there will be quite a few choices and some at reasonable prices.

Hope that can help you :)

I don't like wireless audio.

Couldn't you just pick up an really cheap, old, tiny, second hand desktop to stick behind your TV and hard wire it? You could control that remotely from a laptop, phone, whatever.

I use a Dell Optiplex 740 hooked up. It runs XBMC so actually my Android phone can be the remote using wifi, using the XBMC official remote application.

This way, you're fulfilling your "audio streaming" ambition, but also you have a full blown Media Centre.

Not sure what country you're in, but I found the same as my computer on ebay for
