Beta to Live updating

I have released an app in Beta (v1.0),
Lets assume I installed Beta (v1.0) in the device D1, If I release one more version v1.1 to live not in Beta..
Will the device D1 will update live version v1.1?

I'm no dev but, I would assume the device would update depending on how the app is written?
