[Android Question]

I have a galaxy centura and one time i turned it off and when i turned it back on it said something about recovery with an opened up droid in the background. ever since then the battery life on my phone has had a dramatic negative change. i didnt add any apps recently i just wanted to watch a youtube video but it wouldnt load and thats when i turned it off. What could all this mean?

You will usually only end up in recovery if it can't boot into android (serious software or data problem). Yet I'm guessing that you didn't do anything other than reboot?

Install a battery monitoring app and find out what is using the power. GSam Battery Monitor is both good and free, so I'd give that a go. If it's a rogue app that should tell you which. Also look at wakelocks (look at app usage, then the time the device is kept awake), since apps which prevent a phone sleeping are a major cause of poor battery life. It's possible that an app update is the cause, or even a change in app settings.

If you need detailed advice, it might be best to register so that you can post in the main forum. That way people can discuss it properly with you (hunting battery drain isn't always easy).
