Better Google Talk?

My friend is on a Blackberry and he has the option to send pictures via Google Talk and I never receive them.. and I don't have the option to send them either. It seems the Google Talk application that is built into the Android platform is basic basic -- is there a better version or plugin to download to allow GTalk to be a bit better?
