Big bad stain

A black suede jacket was left on the floor for a long time. Now there's a black stain on the carpet. How do I get rid of it?

I haven't tried Resolve yet, but I have vacuumed. I also used a carpet shampooing machine with Zep. The stain might have faded some, but not enough.

What is that came from the black suede leather garment? Is it dye or proofing or mold or something? If it's staining carpets, quite frankly I don't think I'd really want to wear the thing anymore.

I think the jacket might have gotten wet. It was there for quite a while. I'll probably try Resolve and/or a magic eraser, thanks.

If dye from the a whet jacket seeped into the carpet, I would think the carpet is now dyed, not stained. You may be lucky that the dye hadn't set in the jacket. Or, there could have been excess dye which has now been permanently transferred to your carpet.
