BIG calendar problem!!

I'm using a Motorola Droid Turbo 2. Ever since the last Android update about a week ago, my calendar alerts/alarms have NOT been sounding! Did a few things in settings for the calendar, turned all the alert settings on, did a test a few mins ago & the alarms still won't sound.

Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?

Did you do a Wipe Cache Partition after the upgrade to get rid of all the junk?
Are you getting other notification sounds? Are you sure notification stream was not turned off?

Nope, didn't do a wipe of the cache. Never heard of it before! I'll see about it.

I've turned off notifications on other apps but never did it for the calendar app.

Is the notification stream you're talking about something separate from the calendar?

Wipe Cache P{Artition is one of the mosty important maintenance activities. I do it everyt Saturday. See ...

Volume control on android is one of the most misunderstood subjects in Android. Everyone assumes there is a volume control. There are in fact seven that are controlling six streams. I personally use Tasker to manipulate them.

For you ... tap Volume Up. on the far right of the dialog that appears tap the down pointing carrot ... set all three to the maximum.

Did the partition wipe, tried a test event in the calendar again with all three vol settings turned up. Still nothing. This is really pissing me off -- NOT your advice, the fact that they update things & feel they have to hide all the basic functions.

Reboot into Safe Mode. If it is then fixed it is caused by an app that you added.

Just discovered something else -- I have to turn the volume down on my phone when I get to work everyday. Lately, when I've been turning it back up at the end of the day, the volume alert that used to beep when I did it doesn't beep anymore. Something got screwed up in the latest Android update, I know it.

Sound control was diddled with in Marshmallow. Some apps that worked with Lollipop do not work properly with Marshmallow. Running in Safe Mode would determine if your phone has a misbehaving app added.

My recommendation ...
After a minion system update ...Wipe Cache Partition
After a major system update (like Lollipop to Marshmallow) ... Factory Data Reset

I suggest looking at this page: http://www.greenbot.com/article/299...roid-marshmallows-do-not-disturb-feature.html

- Did you turn on "Do not disturb"?
- Do you have "Priority notifications" turned on with event notifications turned off?
- Do you have calendar notifications blocked?

"Do not disturb" said it was off in the in the Quick Settings. When I tapped it, it was switched on. I turned it off, set a quick calendar event & the bloody thing still didn't give me a sound notification.

Another issue is the master volume when I'm on my main screen -- when I get to work I set it for vibrate & turn it back up when I leave. It used to beep when I turned it back up & it reached the top, doesn't do that anymore. Makes me think that Marshmallow screwed up the master volume & that's what's interfering with the notifications. The visual alerts/notifs don't come up in my notif bar anymore either. This is Google Calendar btw.

Read online this AM that it might be an issue in Gmail so I went in there & set it to display all notifs & it worked ONCE when I set a test event in the calendar. Did it again & it malfunct'd again.

I also spend an hr on the phone last wk with a Verizon tech rep & she couldn't get the thing to fix either.
