I think I would have to agree here. I know nothing of this phone however, if you are a committed Android user, I think you need to get used to this way of thinking. The whole "version" argument will forever be there because of the nature of Android and all the different manufacturers and carriers out there. I do believe he is right in that you shouldn't just dismiss a phone because it isn't the latest software, especially if you know it will get the update. The phone should be judged on a combination of all that it brings to the table. The only reason the OS should be a deal breaker is if the version it doesn't have provides something you MUST have and can't wait for.
 
Disappointment. Samsung also decided to not upgrade their Galaxy from 1.5, you have to get a newer phone (unreleased) to get Android 2.0+. Big companies sometimes cut corners by not committing any resources to supporting a phone once it's released. Bad move in the long term though.
