Bit of a confusing situation (choosing a phone)

Good afternoon friends. I am currently a blackberry user, I know I know but it refuses to break so I havent changed it, ready to take my plunge into the android world. Looking at the S4 vs One comparisons, I think I want an HTC one. I text a lot, dont really play games, take plenty of low light photos.

Now my question today is, HTC one from my home carrier rogers, or wait for the google one? I mean, I know the google one is better, but is it really worth an extra 350 dollars? Moneys not a huge issue, but i dont wanna just throw my money away. Thanks a lot guys!

Are you interested in giving the new Sense a run?? You would be missing that with the Google version.
 
This is sort of subjective.
The one you would get from Rogers is probably the contract price.
The one from Google is going to be unlocked, and yours outright without contract.

It really depends on what you, the user, want.
Do you want an unlocked phone that you own and no contract with stock Android OR do you want HTC sense?

If you want HTC sense, you do not want the Google edition.
My suggestion is this, since your obviously new to Android...

Hit Youtube and look at some HTC One reviews .. see if you like Sense.
Then, look at some Nexus 4 reviews and look at the user interface, not the device itself.

How do people like the Sense so far? Im really quite open to what the general community likes. The opinion of android users is pretty good
 
I think if you asked that question you might find an even split, 50/50

I like sense enough to not want to kill it completely.
I did not like the blink feed part but it grew on me.
The phone with Sense has a TV remote that I really like.

AOSP (stock Android) has simplicity that I like.

The HTC One is a fantastic device no matter what is running on it, IMHO.
 
Unless you need it to run stock Android, no.
The specs are the same.

If you really want your One to look like stock Android, I'd just root it.
