Black screen no notifications

Hello,
When my Sansung S20 fe's screen is sleeping/goes dark, no sound or icon notification alerts arrive. When the screen is open, the sound and icon notifications pop right up. How do I get the alerts to ring/send icon when emails and texts arrive when the phone is sleeping or black or whatever you call ?

Just make sure you are not using any battery saver app that can be the cause to stop the notifications.

Thanks, Richard. I have no battery saver app and battery settings are not set to "optimize." Also "power saving mode" is off.

Still, I think this is just because of battery settings.

Try the following steps it may work for you:

1. Open Quick settings panel.
   Swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings.
   
   
2. Turn off Power saving.
   If it's illuminated, tap the Power mode icon to turn off Power saving mode. This could be preventing notifications from displaying.
   
   
3. Turn off Do not disturb.
   If it's illuminated, tap the Do not disturb icon to disable this feature. This could also be blocking notifications.

Neither settings were on...
My husband just sent me an email to a dark screen. Six minutes later the sound notification came through, with the screen still dark. Hmmm. Better than not at all. We'll see how that goes.
