Blank USB Storage?

[Android Question]

Okay so I have an android and its a samsung captivate glide. It has been weird lately not letting me get on the internet but that has been fixed. Now on my pull down "ongoing" bar it is saying BLANK USB STORAGE. I dont know what is going on or how to fix it but I cant access my photos or music. It is really scaring me because I dont want to lose all of that stuff. Please Help. Its urgent!

Have you tried simply rebooting the phone?

If that doesn't do it, remove the SD card and try it in a card reader on a computer. If you can read it, back up your data. It sounds to me like the phone is not able to read the card for some reason - hopefully just something transient that a reboot or removing/replacing the card will fix, but it's always good to have a backup rather than rely on these cards, so if you can, take one now.
