Blinking Home Button Light

Pilak

Lurker
First of all hi everyone, I'm new here.

I did some research on the forum but couldn't find what I was looking for. As a former Blackberry user I was very used to the "blinking red led" when I had a new message, email or missed call etc. That way I was able to see it without turning the display on.

I would like to have that kind of "function" on my Ace too. Now that the Ace doesn't have a led light (except for the camera flash) I was wondering if it is possible to make the led light underneath the "home button" flash when a mail/message/call is received.

As far as I know the phone doesn't have this function standard. Is there maybe an application for?

Thanks.

You mean to say the backlight?
There is an app called BLN for that in the market. Both free and paid.

IIRC, a BLN app also needs a kernel with the BLN mod.

I use an app called NoLED. It shows any missed calls and texts as floating icons on the screen (like a screensaver) and, when plugged in, it shows me the battery level.

No it didn't. As bigbaldbloke said, it needs something else called BLN Mod, what I don't understand. So any other suggestions are welcome.

Oops. Sorry forgot to tell you that. My bad. What he says is right. You will need a kernel with BLN mod. Here is one nice kernel for Ace that supports BLN.

Considering you have CWM, flash this kernel via CWM and you are good to go.
