Help Blinking Light

Hey everyone...I'm totally new here. I've used Iphones since the 3 and just switched over to Android and the Razr Maxx HD. So far I LOVE it! The Iphone 5 kind of dissappointed me so I was ready for a change. My husband has the Samsung Galaxy 3 and I notice that when he has a message or something his usually green light blinks blue. Is there a way to make that happen on the Razr Maxx when the screen is locked so I know I have a missed call, text, etc?

Yes you can - and SO much more. There are a couple ways to do it. There are some great apps out there that will allow you to create different colored lights for all kinds of different notifications. I use one called LightFlow. Do a search here and you will see a lot of great threads about it. There is a free version so you can try it out and if you like it you can either purchase the full version and get even more functions or you can stay with the free versions.

The Razr Maxx HD is limited to only 6 or 7 different light colors but that should get you a long way. I use all 7 to give me notifications for emails, texts, missed calls, voice mails, chess moves, calendar events, forum posts to name a few. I also use LightFlow to give a different notification sound for each notification.

I also came over from iPhone and you will not believe how much you can customize your Android phone to your personal liking. I can never go back now and I loved my iPhone.

I downloaded the LightFlow and all is well now! Thank you so much =) So far I really do love the phone. The only thing that I don't like is that you can't be in facebook and save a picture to your phone...you have to download the app and yes it works...but I hate how they are filed. I wish there was just one normal camera gallery that holds all the pics without them beign seperated in beam, mobile uploads, tags, etc. Can we get rid of that? Or no.

You can try "just pictures" sorts them into "local storage" and each of your cloud accounts. Some neat stuff in there; however it gets wonky if you set just pictures as the default gallery app instead of "gallery" for specific functions. Just launch it when you need it instead of setting it as default.

you don't even need a 3rd party app. it does it on it's own... the light, as it were.

I know of no way to make the green notification light change colors without a third party app. I use Light Manager instead of Light Flow...I like it better. So how do you get the colors to change without a third party app?

They didn't say to change the color, so I was only saying that the phone default is to flash the light.

I downloaded light manager and lightflow. and can't get either to work. Even in test mode. Is there a master switch somewhere?

Try this: Go to Settings - Accessibility - Services - Light Flow - on/off. Make sure it's toggled to On. If it already is then try to toggle it Off and then back to On.

I use LightFlow and love it, probably won't switch b/c I've got all my settings the way I like them and stuff, but just out of curiosity, what do you like better about Light Manager?

Light manager just seems to work better for me. Light flow was erratic at times and the blinking light would not stop even after acknowledging the alarm.

Facebook blinks Blue. I hate that FB turns notifications on automatically even when I turn them off. The Gallery app should show all pics onthe phone no matter where they are.
