Help Blue Tooth

I have looked around here but have not seen a solution to my question.
I bought my wife a Bose Soundlink III for Christmas and her Moto X does not find it in discovery mode.
The Bose hooks up with my Maxx just fine but the X cannot see it for some reason.

Ideas?

Shooting off the cuff here, but every once in a while my X won't pair with my truck stereo and I have to reboot it. It may be a place to start. I have a pair of bluetooth headphones at home. I'll have to charge them up and I'll try pairing them for a test a little later and see if there is a quirk. They are Moto's, but it seems pretty straight forward pairing bluetooth.

Just a thought that came up while typing, the Soundlink isn't still paired to her phone while you are trying to pair it to yours, is it? I can imagine a scenario where the speakers won't go into discovery mode while paired and connected. Like I say, imagine, as that's a guess.

I did try all of your suggestions before asking here. I did turn off my BT before turning hers on so there would be no confusion with sources. I did also reboot her X a couple of times with no joy. My daughters phone had no trouble finding the Bose as well so I am thinking the X has a problem with Bose. Just not sure why..
