Help Bluetooth and AUX Headphones

kb3cda

Lurker
Been using the S3 for a couple of days now, and the biggest thing I've noticed is that it is completely useless for using in a car.

1. When plugged into an AUX port via the headphone jack, callers on the other end say they hear a severe echo, and a whoosing sound, even with the car stopped and turned off.

2. When using a bluetooth device with the AUX plugged in, you cannot switch to the bluetooth device unless you unplug the AUX plug. The bluetooth headset option is grayed out on the call screen.

I went from a droid x, which is supposed to be a crap phone. I could plug it in to the car to listen to music, and receive calls through the speakers without any echo or issues. Now some three years later, the latest technology cannot do a simple thing as play music through the headphone port, and take calls via bluetooth without having to touch the phone.

Unless I'm missing something. Any help (besides where the nearest hole is located) would be great.

Thanks!

Not sure if it will work but someone makes an aux cable that has a speaker on one end. I bought one at bestbuy to use with another phone but couldn't because my cable aux input is in my console.

Let me give you two different scenarios:

1. Phone is plugged in to AUX via the headphone jack. Music is playing through the car speakers. A call comes in, which is answered. The callers voice comes through the speakers of the car, however, they hear a lot of noise on their end, as well as their own voice echoed back at them.

2. Phone is plugged in to AUX via the headphone jack, as well as paired to a bluetooth device. Music is playing through the speakers. A call comes in, which in order to be answered by the bluetooth, the AUX cable has to be removed, or the option to send the call to bluetooth is grayed out.

If the phone was able to be used reliably via the headphone jack, which I have done with both the Droid X, Blackberry Storm, and Droid Incredible 2, this would be a great piece of technology. For whatever reason, the caller cannot understand me unless using the bluetooth.
