Bluetooth aptX support?

Looked at the specs that I can find but can't see any reference to Bluetooth aptX support?
Hopefully the S5 will support it will as did the S3 and S4 - but would like to see confirmation.
I would imagine it does have apt-x as I think all galaxy devices do. However, it could be that Samsung no longer have the licence to be able to include this?

Check this out:the Note 3(still Galaxy series),ain't have apt-x,and is one of the latest phones released by Samsung,until i wouldn't get the confirmation of it(printed on a rearside box kit-like S3),sad to tell,i will decline to buy it,already i own a pair of headphones from Sony with Hi-Res Audio and Apt-x codec for latest bluetooth technology,whatsoever(MDR-1RBT MK2)!

Looks ominous. I tried tweeting Samsung sales but they just pointed me to their official site. The official site now has more spec details and there is no reference to AptX. It seems almost certain its no longer within Samsung's high end phones - shame.
Both the HTC One M8 and Sony Z2 have been quite clear they support it so looks like I will be opting for one of those.

I give you a hint,maybe will help you:try to test Neutron player and adjust settings after your needs,perhaps this should satisfying you,one way or another(with my Note 3 and 1RBT MK2 i am good)!

Not sure how this helps. Looks like a very good audio player but if the phone doesn't support AptX compressed audio will still be sent to a bluetooth device irrespective to the quality of the media player.

It's a real shame that Samsung don't seem to be supporting it anymore, I can't really understand why, unless they thought it wasn't worth it for them to renew the licence

Maybe it's still a bit niche and they felt not worth supporting anymore. No one I talk to has ever heard of it or sees a real need for it. Ah well the M8 or Z2 for me.

Problem is I'm kind of tied in to Samsung due to having a gear. Ah well, the new line of Google wear smart watches look promising.
I agree that apt-x is quite niche and you also need quite good quality MP3s to start with. Where it really comes into its own is when watching videos, as without apt-x the lip sync lag is irritating.
I've just received my S5 and I can confirm it has apt-x support.
This was also confirmed to me by a representative from CSR.
Nice to know. However I've now bought the HTC M8. Fantastic phone. Maybe I will be back for the S6 or S7!

I can happily confirm that after making a quick call to Samsung UK they confirmed that S5 does indeed support the aptX.

How can you identify if APTX is active on a connection? I have HBS-900 APTX capable phones.
