Ok here is my problem. I just got my xz premium and it will only connect to my car a 2011 kia soul as a contact sharing device.. No multimedia.. I have tried resetting both car and phone... Tried the developer options trick changing to 1.5 and 1.4 AVRCP, neither of which worked for me. Can someone please help me connect as a multimedia device .. I have no issues connecting to other devices headsets, speakers, earbuds, and even a ps 4 controller. I also have tried kia out and Google Android auto.. Neither work either.

Some older car units may not support multimedia, i.e. playing music via Bluetooth, they're contacts and phone calls only. Have you tried the Kia car unit with another phone or tablet via BT?

I have a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander and at the time the sound package was an option, otherwise it was calls and contacts only, or you plugged in the phone via a USB port in the console and used it as mass storage. Those were your options 7 years ago. :(
