Bluetooth Contact Request Is Blocking Connection

Hi,

I just paired an S3 with a KIA Soul and have one issue I cannot seem to locate an answer for...

The pairing works fine, phone seems to connect on it's own every time I get into the car as well, but I noticed am unable to get the car to dial out for the first few minutes after connecting. Upon looking at the phone, there is a contacts request notification that seems to be the cause. If I clear it, I can immediately dial out via the car. Otherwise I have to wait until it goes away on it's own.

How do I stop this contact request, or stop the phone from blocking. I'm not certain what is happening but I think maybe the car is trying to download contacts from the phone every time it connects? If so, there is no way to stop this from the car side, and I've already queried the Soul forums with no luck on suggestions, nobody seems to have ran into this problem.

Help?

Your analysis seems to be correct - the car is probably doing something. Have you tried the car dealer? They may have info or they may have a tech who knows the system.

I would think if this was a "mainstream" problem there would be a lot of users complaining on the Soul forums. A Soul and S3 are two very popular cars and phones. I am guessing what I need to do is try to find a way to get the phone to either automatically ignore, acknowledge, or clear the contacts request coming from the car. The one other angle here could be that maybe my phone is trying to upload a phone book that is very large (my entire corporate book) rather than just my personal contacts. This might explain why the "problem" is noticeable in my case. So, maybe another way to solve this is to limit the upload to just the personal contacts. Either way, no matter which of these potential "solutions" might work, I don't know how to tweak the phone to test or verify any of them.

Anybody have an ideas how to actually TRY one of these theoretical solutions I mention above??

Thanks,

Sonic
