Help Bluetooth Disconnecting Issue

SingleSpd

Lurker
I'll start by saying I have read several other "bluetooth issues" threads and have not been able to find one quite like the issue I'm having.
I have a stock Galaxy S3 running Jellybean.
The dealership did replace my car audio system with a 2013 model that has bluetooth 4.0. From some other sites I've searched, this may be an issue.
The phone pairs just fine with my 2012 Veloster. I can connect the bluetooth to the car audio system and place a call. However, when I hang up, the bluetooth disconnects. If I have the bluetooth connected and I receive a text, email, or, even if I adjust the volume on the phone, the bluetooth disconnects.
I can go into the settings and check the boxes beside call audio and media audio. Once the bluetooth disconnects on its own again, the boxes are no longer checked.
I tried Samsung tech support and they were no help....."go to your auto dealer and have them fix it" is pretty much all I could get out of them.

Anyone else had or heard of this issue, or, am I just missing something in the settings I should change??
